Autumn News

So after starting the dance school 20 years ago at Monton Methodist Church, I

have at last managed to build our very own space. It has been a massive

undertaking to get this far, there were many hurdles along the way! But we rose to

the challenge and are really proud of what we’ve achieved to date!

We’ve had a great start to the Autumn term in what is such a difficult year, we

really appreciate the additional thought everyone has to make when coming to

dancing in this, ‘the new normal’….masks, sanitising, test track and trace, along

with social distancing… As ever, we are appreciative of everyone’s patience and

cooperation.

A huge thank you to so many of you who helped make Bridgewater Studios

possible with carrying wood up and down the stairs, painting, pulling up carpet,

knocking down walls……. but here are a few special shout-outs

Fusion 10 - Lee Holroyd

Renovate - Antony Wallis

1010 taxis - Darren Sheldon

Looks Like Rayne - Lorraine Jones

OFSTED

The next step…..I am applying for Bridgewater Studios to become

Ofsted registered. My aim is to be able to offer affordable dance classes

and performing arts sessions out of school and throughout the holidays.

If anyone has any advise or any suggestions to make this a positive

addition, please contact me.Shona and James McKenna

Joan and David Donnelly

and of course Miss Danielle, Miss Jodie and our student teachers for their endless

time over the Summer.

HALLOWEEN As Halloween falls on Saturday this year, we are having a dress up day for all classes, come in fancy dress and bring your dance shoes, we will incorporate fun parts to the class for the pupils. Year 3 upwards will perform their Halloween dances outside (weather permitting) years 3, 4, 5 at 12.30. Years 6,7 at 2pm and seniors at 4pm. These dances will be filmed as we are not allowed to attract large groups of people. Please note all these dancers will be escorted out and back into the Mill by staff and helpers, to then be collected by parents at their usual finish times.

TAPATHON “We are family” Deadline for Children in Need Tapathon T shirts is Saturday October 10th - cost £10. This is a zoom event for most with dancing families performing at the studios - linking together, with live f b feed too. Please support us, in trying to raise lots of money again.

EXAMS We are booking Prep, Primary, Grade 2 and 3 Ballet exams with IDTA. These classes will be contacted with full details.

CHRISTMAS CABARET

....we will wait and see what we can do nearer the time.

MAD HATTER’S TEA ROOM Although not yet in full swing, please try and support Sarah and Maddy. There are drinks and snacks available - sweet bags 50p, juice carton 35p and bottles of water 50p. Card reader or cash payments.

THE DANCESTORE After a crazy start, we now have a card reader and order system in place with new suppliers. Personalised items will take between 1 and 2 weeks, so if ordering for Xmas please allow for this. Lots of stocking fillers arriving so please call in. Open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Please make appointments on other days so we can staff.

When developing Bridgewater Studios, the vision was to create studios and spaces that other community groups could come and use, hopefully creating a Performing Arts Hub in the evenings and weekends and in the daytime a Baby Hub.
